Envia is a platform that brings together more than 100 carriers to quote, generate shipping labels and track shipments from one place. It connects with Shopify through its app, with Odoo through an official connector included in Odoo, and with WooCommerce and more than 40 platforms. It works with a prepaid balance: you pay for each label when you generate it. For labels to generate themselves, your products need weight and dimensions, and your customers need a complete address, phone number and email.
What is Envia and how does it work?
Envia (envia.com) is a shipping aggregator: instead of opening an account with each carrier, you connect your store to Envia and from there you compare rates, generate the label and track the shipment. According to its site, more than 50,000 companies use it and it handles more than a million shipments a month, in Mexico and more than 11 countries.
The typical flow: your customer buys, the store shows the shipping cost calculated with the weight and destination, the order is confirmed, the label is generated with the chosen carrier and the customer receives a tracking number. At NIQERA we work with Envia as a partner; here we tell you what it does and where its limits are.
Which carriers can I use with Envia in Mexico?
Its directory for Mexico includes, among others: Estafeta, FedEx, DHL Express, UPS, Paquetexpress, 99 Minutos, J&T Express, iMile, Castores, tresGuerras, Sendex, Almex, Afimex, AmPm, PuntoPost, Uber and freight services such as FedEx Freight and Fletes México. Some are activated from your account; to activate all of them, Envia says to talk to an agent.
Being in the directory does not guarantee coverage to every postal code. Availability depends on the carrier, the package type and the destination. Quote your real routes before promising delivery times.
How much does Envia cost?
Signing up is free and you pay per label, with a balance you top up in advance. Its pricing page explains that the balance is charged for the carrier's rate, insurance if you add it, notifications and the pickups you schedule. There is no public price list: you see the exact cost when you quote or generate the label, and for volume there are plans negotiated with sales. Eligible customers are offered a line of credit. Data accessed in November 2026.
In the Shopify app store, the Envia app installs for free and charges per label according to destination, weight and size, in dollars and outside your Shopify invoice.
What it costs you not to automate: someone on your team quotes on several sites, copies addresses by hand and sends tracking over WhatsApp, order by order. Every address copied wrong is a return or a reshipment paid twice.
How does Envia connect with Shopify?
With the "Envia Shipping and Fulfillment" app from the Shopify app store. According to its listing, it syncs orders, generates labels in bulk, quotes with more than 100 carriers, shows rates at checkout, and supports shipping rules, return labels and a tracking page with your branding. It is developed by Envia Shipping Worldwide and has been published since 2017.
Automatic rules are what save the most time: you define which carrier to use when certain conditions are met and Envia picks the option and calculates the cost; with your preferences defined, labels are generated instantly.
One point to check before signing up: Shopify documents that carrier-calculated rates from third-party carriers at checkout come with the Advanced and Plus plans, and that on Grow they are added for a monthly fee or when you pay for the annual plan. That page talks about connecting your own carrier accounts; it does not clarify whether the same applies to the rates an app displays. Confirm it with Envia and with Shopify for your plan.
How does Envia connect with Odoo?
With an official connector that comes in Odoo: the Envia Shipping module (delivery_envia), documented by Odoo for its version 20. Odoo describes it with three functions: compare rates between carriers for domestic and international shipments, calculate rates based on the package and destination, and generate labels when the order is confirmed.
- You create your account in Envia, choosing the country carefully because it defines the account's currency, and you activate the carriers and services you will use.
- You generate an API key in Envia (Developers, API Keys).
- In Odoo you install the module, create a delivery method with the Envia provider, paste the key and sync the carriers.
- When you validate the delivery, Odoo generates the label (and the return label, if you configured it) and leaves it in the order's history, along with the tracking number and the charge that Envia deducted.
- Your customer sees the tracking from their portal.
If you want more than one shipping option (for example, economy and express), you create one delivery method for each combination of carrier, service and package. And in the Odoo store, the shipping price appears when the customer chooses the method at checkout. If you are still deciding on a platform, see Shopify or the Odoo store.
And with WooCommerce or other platforms?
Envia lists more than 40 integrations, among them WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Wix, Tiendanube, VTEX, Mercado Libre, Amazon, Walmart, Claro Shop, TikTok and Odoo. For Shopify, WooCommerce and Odoo it advertises the same four features: dynamic rate quoting, rules for automatic shipments, smart package and a tracking page with customized emails.
If your system is not on the list, Envia publishes a documented API to generate, schedule pickups, track, cancel and pay for shipments, query carrier and service catalogs, and review your history. It has a test environment separate from production. It is the path to connect your own ERP or a custom system; see how we do it in automation.
What data do you need for labels to generate themselves?
The documentation of the Odoo connector is very clear on this, and it applies almost the same to any platform:
| Data | Where it goes | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Weight of each product | Product record | Odoo requires it to generate the label |
| Package dimensions | Package type of the shipping method (mm and kg) | Because of dimensional weight, the label may come out with more weight than calculated |
| Customer's address, phone and email | Customer contact | Odoo requires it to generate the label |
| Neighborhood (colonia) | Customer address | Some carriers in Mexico ask for it; it is mandatory if you use Mexico's electronic invoicing in Odoo |
| Warehouse address | Origin warehouse | Packages leave from that address |
| Tariff code and country of origin | Product record | Mandatory for international shipments |
For consolidated freight shipments (LTL, by pallet) in Mexico, Odoo must send the UNSPSC code of the contents and a transport unit, because a shipping document is generated. If insurance matters to you, keep in mind that in the connector its price is calculated only once the label is generated.
What mistakes are common when automating shipping?
- Products without weight. Without weight there is no reliable rate and, in Odoo, the label is not generated.
- Ignoring dimensional weight. A large, light box is billed as if it weighed more. Keep a catalog of real boxes.
- Charging the customer a flat rate without reviewing it. Compare it each month against what is deducted from you.
- Leaving the label outside the ERP. If the label and tracking do not stay on the order, customer service goes back to searching in three systems. This is how the complete flow of an order.

Frequently asked questions
Does Envia charge a monthly fee?
Its pricing page does not mention a subscription. It works with a prepaid balance: each label, insurance, notification or pickup you use is deducted. For volume there are plans through sales.
Does Odoo integrate with Envia?
Yes. Odoo includes the official Envia Shipping connector (delivery_envia), which quotes, generates labels when the delivery is validated and leaves tracking on the order and in the customer portal.
Can I show the shipping cost at Shopify checkout?
The Envia app offers it. Check with Shopify and Envia whether your plan allows it: Shopify includes carrier-calculated rates from third-party carriers on Advanced and Plus, and on Grow with an extra fee or annual payment.
Which carriers does Envia have in Mexico?
More than 20 in its directory for Mexico, among them Estafeta, FedEx, DHL Express, UPS, Paquetexpress, 99 Minutos and J&T Express. Coverage depends on the destination.
Why was I charged more than quoted?
The most common cause is dimensional weight: the carrier charges for the space the box takes up if it is greater than its actual weight. Record the real dimensions of your boxes.
