How Much Does It Cost to Implement Odoo in Mexico? What Drives the Price

Licenses, hosting, implementation and the costs almost nobody counts before getting started.

In short

The cost of Odoo in Mexico has three parts: licenses (a price per user per month, plus VAT), hosting (included if you use Odoo's cloud, separate if you use Odoo.sh or your own server) and implementation (analysis, configuration, data migration and training). Licenses are the easy part to calculate; implementation is the one that varies most and depends on how many modules you need, the state of your data and how much customization is required. On top of that, add stamping with your PAC (authorized certification provider) and credits for features such as AI.

How much does it cost to implement Odoo at a company in Mexico?

There is no single price, because Odoo is not sold as a closed package. The total cost is the sum of what you pay Odoo each month to use the system and what you pay once to get it running with your processes and your data.

ComponentHow it is chargedWhat drives it up
LicensesPer user per month, plus VAT, with annual or monthly paymentMore paid users or the Custom plan
HostingIncluded in Odoo Online; separate on Odoo.sh or your own serverCustom developments, more capacity, test environments
ImplementationOnce, by the hour or per projectMore modules, messy data, customizations, integrations

How much do Odoo licenses cost?

Odoo publishes three plans on its pricing page. All are charged per user per month, plus VAT:

  • One App Free: a single app with unlimited users, on Odoo's cloud, at no cost. If the app you choose depends on others, it gives you those for free too.
  • Standard: all the apps, on Odoo's cloud (Odoo Online).
  • Custom: all the apps, plus Studio, agentic AI, multiple companies in the same database and external API access. It is the only one that allows hosting on Odoo.sh or on your own server.

These are the list prices Odoo publishes for Mexico, accessed in November 2026. Odoo can change them and applies temporary discounts, so check the current price on its pricing page before budgeting:

PlanPromotional price (per user per month)Regular price (per user per month)Where it is hosted
StandardMex$180 + VATMex$228 + VATOdoo Online
CustomMex$330 + VATMex$410 + VATOdoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own server

The promotional price applies to the licenses you sign up for at the start. Example with the prices above: 15 users on the Standard plan would be Mex$2,700 per month at the promotional price and Mex$3,420 per month at the regular price, plus VAT.

Standard or Custom? If you are going to use Studio, manage several legal entities in the same database, connect another system through the API or have custom developments, you need Custom. Odoo switches your database to that plan automatically if you install Studio or add another company.

Who counts as a paid user in Odoo?

Anyone who logs into the system to create, view or edit documents. According to Odoo, paid users include, for example, the employee who records their expenses or hours and the external accountant who works with your finances. An employee registered in Human Resources without a linked user also counts.

Customers and suppliers who check their invoices in the portal do not pay, nor does anyone who buys in your online store. For staff with very limited functions (checking their time off, expenses and attendance, or operating the barcode scanner in the warehouse) there is the "light user", which is quoted with Odoo. Getting this count right is the most direct way not to overpay.

How much does Odoo hosting cost?

It depends on where your database lives. On Odoo Online, hosting is included in the license, with daily backups and up to 100 GB of storage, but it does not allow custom-built modules. On Odoo.sh you pay separately for capacity (workers, storage and test environments), and that price does not include the Enterprise license. On your own server you pay for the infrastructure and for whoever administers it.

We compare the three options in detail in Odoo in the cloud: Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own server.

What does the implementation cost depend on?

On five things. They are the same ones that determine how long the project lasts:

  1. How many modules you start with. Sales, inventory and invoicing is not the same as adding manufacturing, payroll and an online store.
  2. The state of your data. Customers with the correct RFC (tax ID) and tax regime, products with SAT keys and reliable stock levels import quickly; a catalog with duplicates has to be cleaned first.
  3. How much needs to be customized. Configuring standard features is cheaper than programming. Every custom development also costs to maintain and at every version change.
  4. Integrations. Connecting your store, your carrier, your bank or WhatsApp adds work.
  5. Training. How many areas and people need to be trained.

To give you a sense of scale, the implementation packages that Odoo itself sells range from 4 to 200 hours of consulting, and Odoo notes that midsize or large companies (more than 50 employees) usually work with a partner who provides local service. At NIQERA, an official Odoo partner, an implementation takes 4 weeks on average from diagnostic to go-live.

Which Odoo costs are often forgotten?

The ones that don't appear in the plan table. Odoo clarifies that its subscription does not include:

  • Implementation and specialized services.
  • Credits for in-app purchases: SMS, contact autocomplete, lead generation and the AI that reads supplier invoices and expenses. In Odoo 20, all AI features require credits.
  • Maintenance of custom code.
  • Hosting on Odoo.sh if you have custom developments.

And one very Mexican one: stamping. To issue CFDI (Mexico's electronic invoice) from Odoo you sign up directly with a PAC; the Odoo 20 documentation mentions Solución Factible, Quadrum and SW Sapien. The stamping cost is set by each PAC.

What it costs you not to count them: a budget that looks good in the proposal and grows every month after launch.

What if I use Odoo Community to avoid paying licenses?

The Community license costs nothing, but the cost doesn't disappear: it moves. Community does not include hosting, support or version upgrades, nor Odoo's full accounting or CFDI invoicing. You pay a provider or your own team for that work. We explain it in Odoo Community vs Enterprise.

How can you lower the cost of Odoo without risking the project?

  • Start with what hurts most and grow in stages, instead of implementing everything at once.
  • Clean your data beforehand: every hour of cleanup you do yourself is an hour you don't pay for.
  • Adapt to the standard when the difference from your current process gives you no real advantage; save the programming for what truly sets you apart.
  • Count users carefully: who needs full access, who can be a light user and who only uses the portal.
  • Don't go for the lowest hourly price: a poorly done implementation costs more to fix. If you are already at that point, there is Odoo rescue.
